[Download] Google App Version 7.17 With New Features and Bug Fixes

Google is constantly releasing new updates for all its apps. Users are not surprised when they received something new almost on a weekly basis. Right now. Google app received version 7.17 and this new updates comes with some interesting new additions.

Voice Match is the new Shared Devices

If you take a look at settings, the biggest change brought by version 7.17 of Google app renamed “Shared devices” to “Voice Match”. This name works better, thanks to the Assistant’s device’s ability to recognize the voice of a user. The feature that is able to invite others to train their voices is achieved through a share prompt.

Assistant settings received minor design changes

Google’s Assistant settings was redesigned a few times in the past. There have been couple of designs. In the past, and version 7.17 brought a new look as well. However, do not expect some major visual differences.

This new version indents certain items from the Assistant settings, so that they are highlighted in a better way. The lines that used to separate various menus are also removed by this update. The settings in the Google app adopted a light navigation bar.

Some other features are on its way

Taking a look at the code behind this update, we can sport some clues that seem to indicate that the ability to import captured images will be integrated into Lens. Another string revealed the fact that a sync feature for Chrome might also be on its way.

Despite the fact that Android 8.0 Oreo has been released recently, it appears that many apps are already referencing Android P, the upcoming Android version. This might seem a bit too soon, since Google has not even released Android 8.1 yet.
